The action combat system in Sisters VS Sisters is a disappointment, and while it’s not so bad that it will prevent you from finishing the game, it is incredible that the developers at Idea Factory don’t just stick to a turn-based system...

GAMEPLAY Super-fun action-based battles

GAMEPLAY Dungeons can get repetitive due to sections that are clearly copied and pasted

Although the shift to a more action-oriented combat system initially made me hesitant, I ended up loving every second of Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters once it all clicked. Plus, the meta-humour and lovely cast of characters are more delightful...

graphics Gorgeous visuals

GAMEPLAY Sluggish combat that somehow feels worse than prior entries

Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters has some fun ideas and absolutely beautiful visuals, but with an incredibly flawed combat system that fails to learn from its predecessors, we're ultimately left with another clunky spinoff that fails to move...

If you’ve been waning on the Neptunia series recently, this one is worth picking up. While it doesn’t necessarily redefine the series as we know it, its distinct strengths can be used as a building block for future games to flourish consistently.

Devout Neptunia fans keen for another outlandish escapade to lose themselves in will no doubt get some enjoyment out of Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters. There’s little here for anyone else, though.

graphics The characters and their relationships are really endearing

GAMEPLAY The difficulty means you don't need to bother with some mechanics

Neptunia: Sisters Vs Sisters has wonderful combat and endearing characters, but a lack of difficulty and dodgy dungeons prevent it from being truly great.

Neptunia Sisters vs. Sisters channels the same cheeky humor and simplistic gameplay that fans have grown to expect. At the same time, some of the creative choices implemented here don't mesh well enough to make a complete concept.

graphics An improvement in graphics compared to past episodes

GAMEPLAY Bored in the long run

Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters is a JRPG that features real time combat. It is the first game in the series to be built on the Unity engine. This gives it a higher quality look and feel than its predecessors. However, its story and gameplay suffers from several familiar problems. Despite these issues, it's a solid RPG and should be enjoyed by fans. The story follows Nepgear, a CPU candidate who has been awakened to a completely changed world. When she discovers that her sister, Neptune, has disappeared, she must take on a new role as the hero of the story. While she's doing this, she has to face a threatening force that's determined to take over. In a bid to protect her city, Nepgear and her friends must stop the Trendi Phenomenon. But before they can do so, they have to unlock Planeptune. After this, they can explore the island. The environments look great. Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters uses a fully rendered 3D environment. This is in addition to character models that move their arms in cutscenes. Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters is not the best entry in the franchise, but it's still a lot of fun. Fans of the series will be happy to see some familiar characters, but it doesn't have the dramatic shake-ups of the previous entries. However, Neptunia: Sisters versus Sisters does have some genuinely heartwarming moments. These include some cute little references to the real world.
