River City Girls 2 continues the story of the original game. The game features new locations, more characters, and more moves. It's also an incremental improvement on the original, adding more content while retaining the core mechanics and feel. River City Girls 2 is an action game that blends RPG levelling with beat-em-up combat. Players will take on the role of Ken, the adopted brother of River City crime boss Sabu. As he takes over the city, he will have to fight off the Yakuza gang and would-be assailants. Unlike the first game, there is a bit of a backtracking component. But overall, the map is easy to navigate, and the game offers plenty of opportunities to explore. As you progress through the game, you'll find that you can recruit a variety of enemies, including the Yakuza and the Zombie Female Yakuza. You can use these in your battles, and you can also eat food to get a boost to your stats. However, there are some frustrating aspects to the game. In particular, the bosses are quite annoying. They can get in your way, and they sometimes shoot bombs at you. Getting snagged by a mid-air bomb can be a real pain. If you're playing the game on your own, you may be able to skip some side quests. These are good for getting experience points and money, and they offer unique recruits. The music is quite good. Megan McDuffee's soundtrack is a combination of pop, techno, and '80s styles. Her tracks are guaranteed to be catchy.
