A fantastic remaster of one of the best Final Fantasy spin-offs. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is the definitive version of a game lost for fifteen years. With a masterful visual and audio upgrade and a combat system...
Even when its portable roots occasionally distract, Crisis Core –Final Fantasy 7– Reunion is the best way to play one of the PSP’s most beloved games, almost completely modernizing its graphics, combat, and music in the process.
Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion is a benchmark for how Square Enix should handle its remasters going forward. It provides a nice quality of life upgrade with full voice acting for the entire game and doesn’t change much about it outside of its visuals.
story Great story with sympathetic and likable characters
GAMEPLAY An overwhelming amount of random battles and missions
story An emotional story that casts Final Fantasy 7 in a richer light
graphics Dated design quirks can make some levels feel stiff
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is a faithful, thrilling remaster that celebrates one of Square Enix’s finest stories. Though some clunky level design suggests Square Enix’s remaster has been true to a fault, a gorgeous visual upgrade...
If you played the original Crisis Core and are looking for an excuse to revisit the game, the remaster is definitely the ideal way to play it as everything has been updated to current generation standards.
graphics Visually beautiful environments
graphics Cinematic quality near the end gets iffy
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion bears some heavy resemblances to Final Fantasy 7 Remake. There are a few instances where Reunion's cinematics don't quite hold up, from a visual standpoint, especially towards the game's final moments.

GAMEPLAY The fights have been greatly improved compared to the original
GAMEPLAY As far as the graphics are concerned, more could and should have been daring
Bought on PSP in 2008 and bought back on steam in 2022 (14 years later... WOW). One of the best chapters of the Final Fantasy saga. They could have used the FFVII graphics engine, the one used in this Crisis Core is still valid: the protagonists are quite satisfactory, as are expressions and effects, some settings and the kinematics show more than a few years behind them.
music Audio upgrade are impressive
While Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion isn't perfect, it does a great job of updating the original title and giving it a modernized feel. Its story is still very human and touching, while its gameplay, graphics, and audio upgrade are impressive. The game is easy to recommend to both new and old players. Despite the game's flaws, Crisis Core is a must-have for any Final Fantasy fan.
